We all tend to get caught up in the frantic energy of Christmas, but the holiday season doesn’t stop there. Keep your holiday momentum going through the new year.
Help Out Last Minute Shoppers. While it’s true more people are shopping online these days, there are always those who need a last minute gift or two. Use special sales and incentives to boost your December sales, such as a “No Shipping and Handling” Sale offering discounts storewide, or set up displays for specific gifts such as “Gifts for Mom”. Statistically, people who wait until the last minute aren’t always the most organized of people, so make sure that your business is easy to navigate for these frazzled shoppers. You can also offer gift wrapping services for added convenience.
Be Inclusive. Christmas isn’t the only holiday in December. Be sure to include other members of your customer base who celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, and more. You can include them by offering essentials related to the holiday, such as candles for Hanukkah or food supplies related to the holidays. Do a little research to see how you can be more involved in these lesser known holidays. Celebrants who participate in these holidays will feel all the more appreciated that you take the time to celebrate with them.
Don’t Forget New Year’s. Holiday sales opportunities don’t stop on December 25. New Year’s is a great time for health and wellness related businesses to really gear up for the new year. Offer discounts on memberships and incentives for signing up for email marketing newsletters so that you can stay in contact with your customers all year round. Restaurants can drum up business by hosting New Year’s Eve celebrations.
We wish you the best of luck this holiday season and into the new year.
